    Dr. Fricovsky participated and trained in the RMTL laboratory when he was a high school student and later as an undergraduate student at UC San Diego.  He enjoys working with students and supporting them along their educational and career path, and helping them achieve their career goals while learning valuable skills and knowledge that will help them be successful.

    During her undergraduate years, Dr. Medina-Ramirez discovered her passion for molecular biology through hands-on research. She became captivated by how cells live, die and multiply and this newfound passion led her to pursue graduate and postdoctoral research in cancer biology.  Dr. Medina-Ramirez also found great joy in mentoring undergrads and helping students realize their potential for bench research. She made a career change to higher education to help first-generation and underrepresented students, like herself, navigate the challenges of scientific research and academic life.

    Emme is committed to helping prepare students for their careers and post-undergraduate life. She would like to create more networking opportunities for RMTL students to connect with researchers and industry professionals so that they can receive invaluable mxntorship and gain even more exposure to their future careers.
